The objective of the San Diego Section shall be the advancement of the science and profession of engineering in a manner consistent with the objective of the American Society of Civil Engineers. The San Diego Section was started on February 5, 1915, when San Diego residents (who were members of ASCE) met at the University Club and proposed the formation of a local section. Today the San Diego Section represents more than 1,800 members of the Civil Engineering profession serving San Diego County and Imperial County. The San Diego Section includes three Technical Groups, two active Student Chapters, and a Young Members Chapter.
